On our bikes
Londoners are increasingly turning to pedal-power to navigate the city. For every five people using the Tube each day, another person is getting on their bike — that equates to 750,000 journeys by cyclists every day, with the number expected to double by 2026. This is good news: the more we cycle, the lower the city’s pollution levels. We must not forget the needs of other road-users, notably delivery vehicles, but continued efforts to improve the cycling experience should be a key priority for the next Mayor.
