Plans for a new bridge in the heart of King’s Cross, spanning the Regent’s Canal, have been approved by Camden Council.
Railway lands developers Argent were given planning permission last week to build the new structure, which will be named Somers Town Bridge.
It will open in spring 2017 and will link Camley Street to what will be known as Gasholder Gardens, in the heart of the King’s Cross development.
The new bridge, which will provide a crossing for both cyclists and pedestrians, will be the first to be built in the area for more than a century.
