A self-styled “cycling vigilante” filmed a driver apparently FaceTiming while at the wheel at an accident black spot in east London.
Bus driver Dave Sherry, 39, was cycling along Lea Bridge Road in Leyton on Monday afternoon when he spotted a motorist who was engrossed in a video call while driving.
Mr Sherry, from Harlow, said he was “absolutely shocked” and claimed the motorist was paying so little attention to the road he had no idea he was being caught on camera.
Cycling campaigner Mr Sherry told the Standard: “There’s texting and driving but FaceTiming, that’s a new low in my books. It’s total neglect.

“You know when you get the police saying don’t text and drive, there should be something about don’t FaceTime and drive.”
He added: “He didn’t even clock I was right beside him. I was watching the whole thing.
“I was cycling past and saw what he was doing in between his crotch.”
