The rise and rise of dockless bike sharing will be one of the core themes at the Cycling + Walking Innovations 2017 conference set for London later this month. A discussion of the sector will be chaired by BikeBiz editor-at-large Carlton Reid and will include representatives from oBike, Nextbike, Urbo and Mobike.
The one-day event will also discuss “new technologies, innovative commercial products and services and emerging service and delivery business models,” says a blurb for the conference.
The London-based event is organised by Landor Links and sponsored by the Department for Transport. Cycling + Walking Innovations 2017 will be headlined by transport minister Jesse Norman and gold-medal-winning Olympian Chris Boardman, now Greater Manchester’s walking and cycling commissioner.
Other speakers include Bicycle Association executive director Phillip Darnton, the former chair of Cycling England.
Laura Peacock, the innovation and research manager at Oxfordshire County Council, will talk on “partnerships between local authorities, business and academia to enable regional innovation in mobility.”
