Collideoscope: collating cycle collision data

Over time, Collideoscope will show cyclists' near misses and actual collisions across the country, building up a geographic picture of dangerous hotspots for cyclists.

Have you experienced a near-miss?   A nasty experience where a car came too close, or a pedestrian stepped out without warning, or even another cyclist almost slammed into you?  But no one was hurt.  There is now a website where you can record these incidents.  Just like statistics of actual collisions these near-miss stories can highlight which junctions are unsafe and need redesigning  or which cycle tracks are over-subscribed and need expanding.

I’ve recently used the site to record some incidents on Tavistock Place – to keep up the pressure to improve this cycle facility.   The website is very easy to use: location, date, time and description.  That’s it.  http://collideosco.pe/
