This week’s Good Cycling Facility is a new protected cycleway in the London borough of Waltham Forest. This cycleway will run the length of Lea Bridge Road, fully separated from the road.
This particular section is ‘swapped’ with the footway, in order to minimise conflict with pedestrians at the bus stop, There is a kerb to separate the footway and the cycleway.
Finally, the cycleway itself is surface with smooth, red (Dutch-style!) asphalt, and has its own dedicate street lighting.
