This week’s Good Cycling Facility is a filtered street in the city centre of Utrecht.
The canal on the left is a replacement of the original city canal that had been filled in, in the 20th century, for an inner ring road. The large junction that was at this location has now gone, and the canal has come back. This road (within the old city) has also been filtered, with a series of bollards, to prevent through motor traffic. This is a huge improvement on the previous situation!
