A vision for the cycle route through Holborn
John Dales, Urban Movement
Abstract: Where space is tight, often the only way of creating better conditions for safe cycling will be to reduce the number & speed of motor vehicles. Doing this will also usually benefit people on foot, increase footfall and make streets more attractive to sit down and enjoy. This presentation shows how Camden Cyclists have been working to present an attractive vision for change on Theobalds Road.
Biography: John Dales is a traffic engineer, transport planner and urban designer with a strong background in cycle infrastructure. Some of us have hear him talk about cycle infrastructure at “Street talks” and at Rachel Aldred’s seminars as well as the Hackney Cycling Conference. On twitter @johnstreetdales challenges us all to look at things in a new way, for example, last week he was looking for the best tramlines over grass photo.
