Seven others joined me (Geoff) at Sidings Community Centre for the start of the Brent Parks Ride: Steve, Vivien, Eugene, Sharon, John, Ellen, and Jon. A ninth rider, Will, joined us later in the ride.
The first section is a steady incline to Gladstone Park where some had to walk up the final hill to Gladstone’s house at the top of the park, where we had our first short break.
After circumnavigating the park we went south through quiet streets of Willesden to our second park, Roundwood. Another short circumnavigation followed by a welcome cuppa.
King Edward II Park, part of the Willesden Leisure Centre was our third park, also a place welcoming responsible cyclists.
A short distance away is Queens Park where, unfortunately, cycling is not allowed, but it is a good place to have lunch.
By mutual consent we again went to investigate Paddington Recreation Ground but it started to rain just as we arrived. The consensus was to find the quickest route home, this time following the quiet streets in South and West Hampstead and back to Sidings.
