On 22nd April 2023 Camden Cycling Campaign, Westminster Cycling Campaign & XR Camden, gathered at Swiss Cottage library for this family-friendly ride. We had 25 people sign-up on Event Bright. It was not warm but thankfully stayed dry and everyone was in good cheer.
Our ride leader Suami was running late but it was not an issue as we were also waiting for Harringay Cycle Campaign riders to join us.
We got to Hyde Park corner in good time to meet Redbridge, Brent & Islington feeder riders. We were joined by internet sensation Sigrid 🙂
We crossed to Speakers Corner and proceeded down through Hyde Park.
At Wellington Arch we discovered that the Police had closed Constitution Hill, so we re-routed down to Victoria and on to Westminster Abbey where the ride ended with the gathering of ‘The Big One’ march for biodiversity (including a great speech by Chris Packham).
Here is a picture of Steve (Camden), Suami (Westminster) & Ben (Haringay) smiling at the end of a safe & fun ride with over 100 participants overall.
Our thanks to the organisers, those who helped spread the word, the ride leaders and all the marshalls who did a fantastic job.
