This consultation includes proposals to implement changes to the look and feel of the area, safety improvements and planting on Aldenham Street, Barnby Street, Bridgeway Street, Chalton Street, Charrington Street, Cranleigh Street, Doric Way, Drummond Crescent, Eversholt Street, Platt Street, Polygon Road, and Werrington Street as part of the Somers Town Future Neighbourhood 2030 programme funded by the Mayor of London.
Pedestrian proposals
- new continuous footways at vehicle crossovers as well as junctions (why not at Chalton-Cranleigh? – Sheet 1 Viewport 2)
- new raised uncontrolled crossing points – a bit bumpy for cycling e..g. on Chalton Street – Sheet 1 Viewport 2
- new zebra crossings e.g. signalised to zebra and uncontrolled converted to zebra on Eversholt Street
- new raised tables at junctions
- footway widening
- removal of guardrail
Look and feel proposals
- trees, plants and rain gardens
- New seating,
Cycle parking
- new parking stands
- 16 new bike hangars
- new cycle shelter to store bikes for community cycling initiatives
- new e-scooter and cycle hire bays and extensions of existing bays
Wayfinding for cyclists?
- Sheet 3 viewpoint 2. On Polygon Road at Ossulston Street – encourage cyclists to use Purchese Street
Parking changes
- some single yellow lines converted to double yellow lines why not at Werrington-Aldenham (Sheet 5 Viewport 1)?
- Eversholt – Aldenham has zebra tails – is this sufficienrt?
- why not on Eversholt – Polygon (Sheet5 Viewpoint 2)
- Polygon -Werrington (Sheet 4 Viewpoint 1)

Issues
- Doric Way at Eversholt Sheet5 Viewpoint2. The Mobility Hub scheme drawing shows a marked mandatory cycle lane at the junction.
- Check also Drummond Crescent at Eversholt Street for entry treatment this photo from July 2024 shows a rather inadequate line for entry treatment and the Except Cycles sign is missing . On StreetView Sept 2025 the sign has been fixed .
- Polygon -Werrington (Sheet 4 Viewpoint1 ) very narrow section – OK for cycles?
- new raised uncontrolled crossing points – a bit bumpy for cycling e..g. on Chalton Street
