Meet at 10:15 at the Iverson Road entrance to West Hampstead Thameslink for the 10:26 train to Flitwick (10:18 from St Pancras, or 10:08 from Kentish Town, changing at W Hampstead). We’ll head east through pleasant countryside including a traffic-free section through Wrest Park and have lunch at the Shuttleworth Collection of vintage aircraft. Then there are two options – spend an hour or two viewing the collection and use a short route back, or take a longer route back via Cardington (Grade 2* listed airship hangers) to meet up in Maulden before returning to Flitwick for the train back to London. Distance 27 or 35 miles.
