The measures proposed are:

• Constructing a zebra crossing on Adelaide Road close to its junction with Bridge Approach and Eton College Road, at the site of the existing pedestrian refuge crossing point.

• Installing zigzag clearway markings before and after the crossing point, to ensure sightlines are kept clear at all times from any waiting vehicles.

• Reducing the length of the existing single yellow line by approximately 7.0m on the northern side of Adelaide Road in front of the shops.

CCC’s response

Camden Cycling Campaign supports this proposal. However, we have an associated request regarding cyclists.

Eton College Road is a recommended cycle route. The new contraflow in Bridge Approach is widely used and much welcomed by cyclists, together with the crossing to Crogsland Road. Therefore, we would like to know whether anything can be done to assist cyclists movements between Eton College Road and Bridge Approach. If this is the case, we would like it to be considered for inclusion in this scheme.
