The council wants to replace the one zebra crossing in Pond Street with two new ones at more approprtiate locations.
They mention 3 cyclists being injured in a three year period but don’t say what remedial actions are to be taken.

CCC’s response
We accepted the proposal for the pedestrian crossings and added this comment:
The Camden Cycling Campaign understands the advantages of introducing in Pond Street two new pedestrian crossings in place of the current one. However, CCC notes that it would be preferable to introduce raised pedestrian crossing as this would achieve a reduction in the speed of motor vehicles and bicycles on the downhill lane. It would also be an advantage to cyclists if a painted cycle lane (with a segmented line) was drawn on the upper part of the uphill lane as cars stopped at the traffic light impede the progress of cyclists.
