Although cyclists are permitted to ride down Pancras Road from the junction with Goodsway and Camley Street, the ‘no left turn’ and ‘no right turn’ signs indicate the opposite.
Our newsitem of 23 December 2009 reported that the cyclists exception has been masked out on the No Left Turn and No Right Turn signs into St Pancras Road South.
Camden officer Chris Beasley who is dealing with this matter has now reached a compromise.
He plans to put up advisory plates stating that Left Turn Right Turn is prohibited except for cycles and taxis. He will take down the offending no left turn and no right turn signs. This should be completed by the end of this financial year. (Time is required for getting it drawn, approved and funded).
It is a temporary measure until DfT approve suitable signs (which could take time).
