Open Street Map Cycle Map Location
Proposals:
- Green Man crossing across Gloucester Gate north of Albany Street.
- ASLs on all arms of the junction at Albany Street
- ASLs on two of the three arms of the junction an at Park Village East (omitting northbound on Gloucester Gate).
- Reduce traffic to 2 lanes in Parkway and implement cycle lane
We are told that the modelling will not allow an ASL northbound on Gloucester Gate.

CCC’s response
Camden Cycling Campaign supports all the measures proposed in this consultation.
We are very pleased that at last these junctions will be provided with ASL boxes, which are usually very beneficial to cyclists. Please note that these should be implemented with a depth of 5 metres.
We are disappointed to hear that at the time of consulting, there was no intention to provide an ASL box on Gloucester Gate northbound on the approach to Prince Albert Road. We urge you to reconsider this and to provide an ASL box at this location. Of course an ASL box will have some impact on the queueing of motor vehicles, but cycles are vehicles as well and deserve consideration. If they get to the front, then they will not occupy a space in the queue.
We also agree that the reduction of lanes from 3 to 2 and the addition of a cycle lane southbound on Parkway will be beneficial.
