Camden Council proposes pedestrian improvements at the junction of Oval Road and Jamestown Road. This will consist of:
- a raised table at the junction with level pedestrian crossing points on the three arms
- double yellow lines on the approaches to the junction
- pavement widening outside the new development at 35 Oval road
We had originally objected to what appeared to be a narrowing of the western end of Jamestown Road at the junction with Oval Road, but following a site visit and discussion with the engineer we were satisfied that this was not the case, and so withdrew our objection. The replacement of single with double yellow lines on Oval Road should make it less likely that vehicles will cut the corner, so this should be an improvement.
