This week’s Good Cycling Facility is a new bi-directional cycleway in the city centre of Delft.
This is an area formerly dominated by the railway running through the city on a raised concrete viaduct. The railway has been buried underground, and the surface has been redeveloped. This path runs through this development along the line of the railway, alongside a road. The cycleway is wide, with its own (new) tree planting and dedicated street lighting. It is well-separated from the road by a wide verge and (intermittent) car parking.
