The cycle track on Purchese Street (just west of St Pancras) is finally open again (it was closed for 3 years while construction of the new school was taking place). Those who still use the route down Ossulston Street rather than Midland Road will be pleased, especially as the alternative via Charrington Street and the shared space is almost impossible now with the building works there, and you are encouraged to switch back to the old route.
Update 1 October 2020:
The re-instatement of the original route has been well-managed – it’s a much more comfortable and quicker route than the diversion we’ve been using or 3 years. There is clear signage and cycle logos painted on the carriageway telling people about it. During a short visit, everyone seemed to be going that way but there will no doubt be a few who don’t notice and plough on as before.
