The table below shows the layout of the Home page as displayed on a desktop computer. It consists of several areas, most of which are arranged in three columns. On mobiles, these areas are displayed one after the other (taking each row from left to right). Areas indicated † are not displayed on mobiles. The contents of most of the areas are specified in Widget boxes with names such as EZ Home Top #1 (accessible from the dashboard). The designer assigns widgets (with functions such as HTML or Text or Search….) to the widget boxes.
The names of the Widget boxes are in bold, Widget names in italic/bold and categories in italic.

Notes
- The Site Title: “Camden Cyclists” and the Tagline: “The Camden Branch of the London Cycling Campaign” are in the ‘General Settings” accessed from the WordPress dashboard.
- The Menu bar is configured from the dashboard – ours refers to pages and to posts by category 1.
- We use the WordPress theme ‘Genesis’ and the child theme ‘Dynamic-Gen’ (the latter can be configured e.g. to specify the widths of columns but we seldom change it).
Genesis provides a widget called “Genesis Featured posts” in which the following may be specified: the category, the number of items to be displayed, order, show featured images, display (or omit) from desktop computer or mobile…etc
A plugin provides the WP categories widget for displaying links to a selected collection of categories
