The photo below shows Bayley Street viewed from Tottenham Court Road soon after the completion of the West End Project. The large building on the corner (on the right) has been demolished and is currently being replaced by a new building.
Funding from the building project is to be used to create a pocket park with rain gardens and trees through this section of Bayley Street.
The Santander cycle hire docking station (holding 25 bikes) to move to Percy Street (already consulted on and agreed).
The drawing of the proposed pocket park is here
These are the proposals:
- A new granite surfaced 3m wide two-way cycle track with rain gardens on both sides and pedestrian access across the middle.
- New cycle parking stands on Bayley Street (where on drawing?).
- The existing Hire E-bike and scooter bay is to be extended.
- Loading bays moved to make room for the pocket park.
