St George the Martyr Healthy School Street in Millman Street
A trial timed HSS on all of Millman Street, Rugby Street and Great Ormond Street (between Lamb’s Conduit Street and Millman Street) between 8:30am – 9:30am and 3pm – 4pm, Monday to Friday during school term times only. Using ANPR cameras. Implemented with an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) for a period of up to 18 months, followed by a decision to make the scheme permanent, remove it entirely, or keep it with some changes. Exemptions:
- Vehicles registered to properties and businesses on the sections of the above streets
- Parents or pupils with with a Blue Badge
- Emergency services
Other permanent proposals:
Six new cycle hangars
Making John’s Mews between Northington Street and Roger Street one way southbound for motor traffic and keeping it two way for cyclists.
Providing contraflow (two-way) cycling on all of the one-way streets between Guilford Street, GIR, Theobalds Road and Lambs Conduit Street (see green lines on the map):

- on Rugby Street to the corner of Millman Street.
- on Great James Street, giving access to the link through to Millman Street.
- On Northington Street all the way to GIR. (already 2-way between John’s Mews and John Street).
- On Sheet 07 of the Drawing 2-way cycling on Roger Street from GIR to Doughty Street (a very long term ask).
Installing a continuous pavement on Great James Street at the junction with Theobalds Road
Replacing single yellow lines with double yellow lines around the following junctions and streets:

- John’s Mews, Rugby Street
- Great James Street at the junction with Theobald’s Road and at the junction with Northington Street
- Both sides of North Mews and Kings Mews at the junction with Northington Street
- Doughty Street and John’s Street at Roger Street
- On Brownlow Mews and North Mews at the junction with Roger Street
- On the eastern side of the entire North Mews
- On the southern side of Great Ormond Street (Between Millman Street and Lamb’s Conduit Street)

Trial timed HSS on all of Baldwin’s Gardens from the junction with Gray’s Inn Road as far as the new road closure at Leather Lane and on Portpool Lane from the junction with Gray’s Inn Road as far as the gated parking area – between 8.15am – 9.15am and 3pm – 4pm, Monday to Friday during school term times only. Using ANPR cameras. Implemented with an experimental Traffic Order (ETO) for a period of up to 18 months, followed by a decision to make the scheme permanent, remove it entirely, or keep it with some changes.

- Installing double yellow lines on both sides of Portpool Lane to prevent parking near the junctions and the Estate entrances
