Consultation on changes to Raveley and Lupton Streets

Camden are consulting on changes to Raveley and Lupton Streets to upgrade the 20 year old 'Home Zone' to remove motor traffic. Dates: Consultation 23rd June to 20th July; Reply to: safetravel@camden.gov.uk; CCC member dealing with it: Suzanne Weller. Responded 18th July 2025.

Camden are consulting on changes to Raveley and Lupton Streets to upgrade the 20 year old ‘Home Zone’ to remove motor traffic. Currently there are bollards on the west arm of Raveley Street and the south arm of Lupton Street but these don’t stop drivers using the area as a short-cut from Lady Margaret Road to Brecknock Road and some riders of scooters and motorcycles ignore the barriers.

The proposals include:

  • Healthy School Streets on the full length of both streets, Monday to Friday from 8am – 9am and 3pm – 4pm (during school term time only)
  • Making the north arm of Lupton Street one-way southbound and the east arm of Raveley Street one-way eastbound (with cycle exemptions).
  • An enforcement camera to stop mopeds and M/Cs  cutting through the existing barriers
  • Removal of the residents’ parking outside Eleanor Palmer Primary School.
  • Creating planted areas
  • Cycle stands and hangars plus a dockless e-scooter and cycle hire bay

The proposals look sensible and we plan to support them while asking for improvements to the crossings of Fortess Road and Brecknock Road and to the junction with Lady Margaret Road.
