Camden Town Vision

Camden are seeking comments on the draft Camden Town Vision. Consultation open 13th July until 23rd August 2026. CCC member dealing with it: John Chamberlain

Following an engagement process in 2025, including a walkabout which we attended, Camden have produced a draft Vision for the Camden Town area. They are now seeking comments and suggestions for which projects to prioritise.

A copy of the draft framework is here; it includes a list of planned projects as well as ideas for future ones.

The vision is divided into 9 themes:

  1. Culture & Identity
  2. Community & Residents
  3. Visitors
  4. Economy, Business & Retail
  5. Safety
  6. Cleanliness
  7. Climate & Greening
  8. Public Realm & Transport
  9. Development & Heritage

We have concentrated on theme 8 – Public Realm & Transport. Our proposed policy is to support all the proposed projects and prioritise the following:

  • T.P1 Deliver enhanced pedestrianisation – refers to making permanent the Camden High Street pedestrianisation and extending it to Castlehaven Road
  • T.P2 Camden High Street South scheme – but needs reference to protected cycle lanes
  • T.P4 Cross Camden Cycleway
  • T.P7 Supporting the Stephenson Walk – add reference to cycling
  • T.P9 Healthy School Streets
  • T.P13 Enhanced cycle routes
  • T.P18 Sustainable servicing and deliveries
  • T.P24 Junction improvements
