On Sunday 5th July James Brander led a group of six cyclists on an epic ride from Camden to Rye on the East Sussex coast. We picked up a rider at Lewisham and then another at our morning tea stop in Shoreham, just south of the M25. The pace was quite quick, as it would have to be to cover the hundred miles to Rye, and with the inevitable ridges, downs, hills and valleys everyone’s legs started to feel it! At various stages in the afternoon we said goodbye to riders who sensibly wanted to get home at a reasonable time, leaving just three to continue on, through lovely countryside, to Rye, finally arriving between 8 and 8:30 pm. Trains then got us home rather late! Thanks to James for being an excellent guide, and congratulations to everyone who took part.

See George’s a plot of the route as far as Wadhurst – the first 57.7 miles, but almost 1200 metres of climbing when he and Richard bailed out!
