Camden are consulting on measures for Chester Road. The proposals include the following:
- Replace speed cushions with full width sinusoidal humps
- Add continuous pavement at junction with Dartmouth Park Hill
- Additional crossing points for pedestrians
- Removing parking where it obstructs buses or is close to junctions
- Add dropped kerbs to facilitate access to the Chester Road Hostel
Initial Comments
- Sinusoidal speed humps are welcome as cushions are ineffective.
- We are pleased to see the continuation of Camden’s policy to ban parking and loading within 10m of all junctions.
- Measures to facilitate the passage of buses are good for buses but also for cyclists who get stuck behind them
