Kerbside Microhubs Consultation

Camden are consulting on the introduction of four kerbside microhubs as a trial to consolidate 'last-mile' delivery. Dates: Consultation: 19th October to 9th November 2026; Reply to safetravel@camden.gov.uk; CCC member dealing with it: Steve Prowse.

Camden’s stated aim is to

  • reduce local van mileage and multiple short delivery stops;
  • support deliveries made on foot for the final part of a journey;
  • reduce conflict caused by ad-hoc loading and stopping;
  • improve the Council’s ability to manage delivery activity on the public highway;
  • provide evidence on whether this approach works safely and effectively in different parts of Camden.

The proposed locations are:

  • Clarence Way
  • Barnby Street
  • Guilford Street
  • Lincoln’s Inn Fields

Initial Comments

The proposals are consistent with the objectives of Camden’s Freight and Servicing Action Plan and we are very supportive of this initiative. We have a few concerns about the potential impact on people with protected characteristics and we have some suggestions for complementary changes to parking and loading on narrow residential streets.
