Background to Campaign at St Pancras

About 60 people on cycles, many with banners joined the demo. Report on the Demo From 14 November 2007, Eurostar services to Brussels and Paris depart from St Pancras International. The station building is a wonderful mix of Gilbert Scott’s gothic extravaganza, Barlow and Ordish’s train shed repainted sky-blue and the new modern concrete structure.

Report on Demo at St Pancras International

Almost a hundred cyclists circled St Pancras International this morning Wednesday 14th November the first day of public services. They were there to protest that cycling seems to have been forgotten in the £800m redesign of the flagship station. The colourful procession started at 8.30am to the words of “I want to ride by bicycle”,

Meet 8-8.30 am outside the German Gym Pancras Road opposite the entrance to St Pancras International. Ride the roads round the station to highlight the problems. photo Call at 9.30. We’ll then wait for departing passengers at 10.30 and arrivals from Europe at 11 am.

Talk by Koy Thompson, LCC Director

Koy Thompson, the new director of LCC, introduced himself and told us a bit about his background. • He emphasized that what he found most striking about LCC was the energy and expertise of its members, and that he saw it as his role to promote this culture, not to develop a corporate “top-down” approach.
